Overall Comments:
I was left with the feeling that DiBiasi at times didn't know what kind of pacing he wanted to
the film, since during the first 30 or 40 minutes everything goes by very slowly and doesn't seem to lead you to any
slowly and doesn't seem to lead you anywhere. It's not until the hour mark that things start to make more sense and the
things start to make more sense and the story becomes interesting; with some pretty solid scenes and an increase in
scenes and an effective increase in tension.
Though this also ensures that the killer comes across as such an inconsequential character
that by the end it really feels like someone shoehorned into the story. Come on...
it's as if the scriptwriter first had an idea and then changed it little by little
to the point where his original idea ended up being totally secondary.
In the matter of performances it's ok; Coleman is really not very demanding here and
practically all the other actors appear little on screen. In terms of production
is nothing spectacular, although in the aspect of makeup if they achieve a very good visual work in the only really disturbing scene.
the only really disturbing scene, leaving you with the feeling that it could have been better exploited.
could have been better exploited.
Final opinion: Cassadaga is a film with an interesting premise that in the end doesn't exploit its full potential and wastes its
its full potential and that wastes a killer who could have given much more. Still,
it's a solid work with some worthwhile stuff and maybe in a few years it will raise its value.
